Abstract
⺠Vascular endothelial growth factor is detected in patients diagnosed of schistosomiasis. ⺠Reduction of worms, eggs recovery and granuloma formation is observed in mice treated with endostatin (angiogenesis inhibitor). ⺠Specific antigen of Schistosoma mansoni from cercariae stimulated VEGF and FGF2 production by alveolar macrophages.
