Abstract
⺠Enzymes of the decarboxylating arm of the TCA cycle in the L3Teladorsagia circumcincta were examined. ⺠Citrate synthase, aconitase, isocitrate dehydrogenase and α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase activities were detected in tissue homogenates. ⺠Enzyme Vmax and substrate Kms were calculated. ⺠Only citrate synthase had Km values which were markedly different from values obtained from mammalian species. ⺠In terms of catalytic efficiency, this arm of the TCA cycle is most limited by α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase activity.
