Abstract
⺠Diagnostic techniques for detection of Trypanosoma evansi are compared in an experimental model. ⺠Parasitological techniques detected the parasite only in the acute phase of disease. ⺠Seroconvertion by iELISA beginning in the acute phase until final of the study. ⺠PCR detects the parasite in phases of low parasitemia. Increasing the concentration of DNA in PCR allowed the detection of the parasite. ⺠PCR showed the highest percentage of detection for T. evansi.
