Abstract
⺠The growing debate on geoengineering indicates serious concern for the climate system. ⺠Global awareness and engagement in developing governance for research is critical. ⺠Governance structures to ensure responsible transparent research are needed urgently. ⺠Interdisciplinary research including social and ethical aspects is essential. ⺠The diversity of Carbon and Solar Geoengineering must be understood separately.
