Abstract
⺠We examined the effects of monsoons, nitrogen, and disturbance on Larrea tridentata. ⺠Summer monsoons increased Larrea growth in dry but not wet years. ⺠Nitrogen deposition and soil disturbance generally did not alter Larrea growth. ⺠Mammalian herbivory increased with monsoons and nitrogen. ⺠Biomass loss by mammalian herbivores may negate positive Larrea growth responses.
