Abstract
⺠There were 10 times more annual plants in our Mojave site than in our Sonoran site. ⺠Annual plant abundances were higher on the north side of Larrea tridentata. ⺠Native annuals in the Mojave Desert were most abundant near the edge of the shrub. ⺠Native annuals in the Sonoran Desert were most abundant in open areas. ⺠L. tridentata effects on annual abundances were not consistent between deserts.
