Abstract
⺠In African savannas, livestock corrals develop into long-term nutrient-rich glades. ⺠I examined long-term plant community development and herbivore effects in glades. ⺠I found that glades host specialized plant communities and attract wildlife. ⺠Wildlife appear to help maintain glade vegetation in an early-successional state.
