Abstract
► Seed traits of Hordeum comosum and Koeleria vurilochensis grasses were studied. ► Species differences in morphological and functional traits were found. ► H. comosum presented larger seeds, and higher and synchronized germination. ► K. vurilochensis showed small and light seeds, and lower germination rate. ► These results are important for breeding/restoration efforts in Patagonia steppes.
