Abstract
The processing of the fossil energy materials – coal, oil and gas – is an important industrial sector for the employment of separation equipment. To these fossil fuels have been added the renewable biofuels as a sustainable alternative. Ken Sutherland reviews the range of applications for filtration and other separation equipment in the whole field of fuels processing, with the emphasis on biofuels production.
