Abstract
- Reported is a new micro-scale synthesis of 117Sn-enriched TBT from tin metal.
- The 117TBT product was characterized by GC-ICP-MS and NMR techniques.
- Advantages of synthesis are its selectivity, repeatability and purity of 117TBT.
- 117TBT is not commercially available but is urgently needed in environmental studies.
- 117TBT can be used as tracer to study the fate of OTC and to apply ID GC-ICP-MS.
