Abstract
⺠We analyzed cement dust samples from Nigeria and United States of America for metals and hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)]. ⺠Total Cu, Ni, Cr, Cr (VI) and Mn were significantly higher in USA cement dust sample. ⺠Nigeria cement dust contains higher concentrations of Cd, Pb and Hg. ⺠The studied samples contain metals that are known human carcinogens. ⺠The study reveals that concentrations of heavy metals and Cr (VI) are factory dependent.
