Abstract
⺠Benzene was quantified in 455 foodstuffs in Belgian and possible sources identified. ⺠Benzene was detected in 58% of samples with highest values in smoked and canned fish. ⺠Dietary benzene intake was quantified for the Belgian adult population. ⺠Probabilistic intakes were 0.02 μg kgâ1 bw dâ1. ⺠Estimated benzene intakes are below the minimum risk level for oral chronic exposure.
