Abstract
⺠Mirex was quickly completely destroyed when co-ground with iron powder and quartz sand. ⺠Model was established to well correlate the efficiency with main operational parameters. ⺠Main products were identified as carbon and ferric chloride, with no organic residue found. ⺠Mechanism was proposed as dechlorination followed by carbonization.
