Abstract
⺠Hexane-acetone solvent mixture was used to extract heavy oil from polluted soil. ⺠Polar aromatics and nC7-asphaltenes were effectively removed. ⺠Extraction kinetics rapidly reached equilibrium. ⺠Multistage extraction enhanced the removal of oil fractions.
