Abstract
⺠A biotrickling filter treated high volumetric mass load of hydrogen sulphide. ⺠The particulate matter produced was characterised. ⺠The cause of pressure head loss increase was solids accumulation. ⺠A model was applied to describe the production of solids. ⺠Inert biomass and sulphur compounds were shown to be the main fractions of solids.
