Abstract
⺠Bright Yellow-2 (BY-2) cells were selected as model plant and treated with PCDD/Fs. ⺠PCDD/Fs induced the generation of toxic oxygen species in tobacco cells. ⺠Tobacco cells had the ability to cope with the oxidative stress induced by the low concentration of PCDD/Fs. ⺠High level of PCDD/Fs caused obvious oxidative stress and phytotoxicity. ⺠High level of PCDD/Fs modified the endogenous hormonal balance in the tobacco cells.
