Abstract
⺠Aromatic degrading haloarchaea found in geographically diverse hypersaline environments. ⺠Haloarchaea degrade naphthalene, anthracene, phenanthrene, pyrene and benzanthracene. ⺠Haloarchaea reduce the Chemical Oxygen Demand of hypersaline petroleum produced water up to 70%.
