Abstract
Despite recent high levels of precipitation in the UK, it is argued that rainfall is becoming increasingly scarce. Water is far too valuable a resource to use only once and throw away. With landfill costs increasing and existing sites having limited life-spans, the re-use of wastewater and examination of new and innovative forms of wastewater screening can create cost-effective and viable alternatives.
