Abstract
⺠Vertical emission profiles have a large temporal and spatial variability. ⺠Effective emission heights show large differences between coastal and continental areas. ⺠Currently used fixed emission profiles do not represent the before mentioned variability. ⺠The inter-annual variability of effective emission heights due to the meteorology is very small. ⺠For regional scales the profiles are not dependent on model resolution.
