Abstract
The surface modification of Gd0.1Ce0.9O1.95 (GDC) particles on Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3âδ (BSCF) sandwich membrane is prepared for oxygen permeation by the infiltration method. The oxygen fluxes of BSCF membrane after infiltration provide relatively high performance due to the improved surface exchange kinetics, which is confirmed by the study of electrical conductivity relaxation. So far, the modified BSCF sandwich membrane has presented the highest performance of oxygen permeation among MIEC membranes at low temperature, such as 650 °C and 600 °C. The encouraging results demonstrate that the infiltration way is an alternative to develop highly efficient oxygen permeation membrane.
