Abstract
⺠Salt marsh sediment quality was assessed with expanded multiple lines of evidence. ⺠Sublethal responses in higher trophic level resident species are useful indicators. ⺠Susceptibility to natural confounding factors should be considered. ⺠Integration of molecular to population level responses supports accurate assessment.
