Abstract
⺠Hydroxylated PAHs inhibited both CYP17 and CYP11β activities in carp testis mitochondrial fractions. ⺠9-OH-phenanthrene was the strongest inhibitor of CYP17, CYP19 and CYP11β activities. ⺠Parental PAHs did not alter the synthesis of androgens and estrogens in carp gonad subcellular fractions. ⺠The activity 11β-HSD has been characterized in carp testes.
