Abstract
⺠Urine diverting toilets (UDTs) are largely unfamiliar in the US. ⺠People consider UDTs environmentally friendly and socially acceptable. ⺠More than 60% of people are willing to pay (WTP) a fee to install a UDT at home. ⺠Women had higher WTP than males and WTP increased with age, education and earnings. ⺠People believe that UDTs conserve water (> 80%) and recycle nutrients (> 70%).
