Abstract
⺠We review the potential for human and animal pathogens to enter green waste compost. ⺠We consider health risks associated with its application to agricultural soils. ⺠Data on pathogen prevalence in non-agricultural soils and plants are limited. ⺠Use of green waste compost on farm land is unlikely to significantly impact health.
