Abstract
► We studied organic contaminants in groundwater and reclaimed water for irrigation. ► Caffeine, nicotine, chlorpyrifos, fluorene, phenanthrene, pyrene were most detected. ► Concentration lower than 50 ngL− 1 was detected (46% of the total 183 contaminants). ► Some pharmaceuticals and cholrpyrifos ethyl presented higher levels (>100 ngL− 1). ► Processes engaged: sorption, degradation, preferential flows and alternative sources.
