Abstract
⺠Oxidative stress biomarkers were assessed for the first time in octopus. ⺠Antioxidant enzymes were highly responsive to metal accumulation in digestive gland. ⺠CAT, SOD and GST activities were inter-correlated and prevented oxidative damage. ⺠Octopus is suggested as a bioindicator species for metal contamination.
