Abstract
⺠Hg accumulation rates (ARHg) in peat reflect differences in pollution history. ⺠At all the Czech sites, maxima in ARHg were between the 1950s and 1980s. ⺠The ARHg significantly correlated with the Pb accumulation rates. ⺠A slight increase in ARHg was observed in the most recent peat segments. ⺠High recent ARHg reflect emissions from intensive coal burning in Central Europe.
