Abstract
⺠We examined the importance that women attributed to manganese and her possibilities for participation in risk management. ⺠The women perceived Mn to have serious effects on health, for example, memory problems. ⺠They perceived that Mn has decreased the production of fruit and vegetables in the region. ⺠The women have fewer opportunities than men to participate in decisions related to risk management. ⺠Spaces for communication need to be created to listen to the women and empower them to participate in the risk management.
