Abstract
► This study determines reasons for elevated blood MeHg levels in NHANES populations. ► EPA's SHEDS-Dietary exposure model results compared well with NHANES biomarker data. ► We identified key fish types, age groups, and racial/ethnic populations. ► These methods could be applied for other populations (tribes), chemicals, and foods. ► This research is important for offering insights to mitigate exposures to MeHg.
