Abstract
âºWe model awakening probability due to nightly church bell ringings in a field study. âºWe applied polysomnography and concurrent acoustic recordings in 27 subjects. âºAwakening probability increases with increasing maximum SPL of bell ringings. âºExposure-response relationships are reported and compared with other noise sources. âºThe paper concludes with considerations regarding nighttime noise regulation.
