Abstract
⺠Five sampling sites have been chosen to discuss the spatial and temporal characteristics for coastal city. ⺠The diagnostic ratios indicated that vehicle exhaust was a primary source for atmospheric PAHs in Xiamen. ⺠The average BaPeq for Xiamen indicated that the health risks of particulate PAHs were higher than those in the gaseous. ⺠It is the first time to systemically discuss the characterization of PAHs and its potential risk in Xiamen.
