Abstract
⺠Severe food poisoning by PCBs and PCDF, termed “Yusho”, occurred in Japan in 1968. ⺠We conducted an area-based SMRs study at a severely affected area. ⺠Shortly after the exposure, SMRs of non-cancer mortality was increased, especially DM, CVD, and pneumonia/bronchitis. ⺠Study provides further evidence on acute effects on non-cancer mortality in Yusho.
