Observation of elevated air pollutant concentrations in a residential neighborhood of Los Angeles California using a mobile platform

► We monitored primary pollutants throughout in a low income Los Angeles neighborhood. ► Multiple factors lead to elevated ultrafine particles in residential areas. ► High traffic density, many high emitters and ubiquitous stop signs all contribute. ► Photochemical production appears to elevate ultrafine particles in the afternoon.
