Abstract
► A new method for fugitive dust monitoring was validated in wind tunnel experiments. ► DustScan is unpowered, cylindrical, with removable adhesive dust collection media. ► Exposed to aliquots of known dust at 2-10 m s−1 in the wind tunnel experiments. ► DustScan was directionally accurate at all wind speeds tested. ► Antithetic dust catch proportions were much lower than for the BS 1747 Part 5 gauge.
