Abstract
⺠We review recent observational results that discuss "inverted polarity" thunderstorms. ⺠We analyze a new negative strike dominant, high-precipitaiton supercell storm. ⺠A key thunderstorm electrification mechanism is not inverted but varies continuously. ⺠A combination, not simple inversion, of electrification regimes better fits observations. ⺠Recommendations for adjustments to polarity terminology are discussed.
