Abstract
⺠The transport of smoke particles over the Southeast Asia is studied with WRFchem. ⺠Identified are roles of sea breeze, storm, monsoon and topography in smoke transport. ⺠WRFchem-CALIOP comparison suggests an optimal smoke injection height of ~ 0.8 km. ⺠This injection height is lower than 2-4 km often used in chemistry transport models. ⺠WRFchem simulations using FLAMBE fire emission agree well MODIS and ground-based data.
