Abstract
► Lightning activity increases during the El Nino period and decreases during the La Nina period. ► ENSO is more effective in changing lightning activity in Southeast Asia than in South Asia. ► Unlike the El Nino-ISMR relationship, El Nino-lightning relationship shows increasing trend.
