Abstract
⺠We performed MD simulations of POPE lipid bilayer with or without ions. ⺠We propose the mechanism of how cation changes membrane dynamics. ⺠Membrane fluidity is not affected by cation-lipid interactions. ⺠The role of cation is dehydration of lipid molecules. ⺠The dehydration plays an important role in reducing membrane fluidity.
