Abstract
Linking remotely sensed and forest inventory data in Europe - Three normalized effects of aggregation: Cover-type agreement, Represented Information, and the Standard Error (SE) of the underlying NFI data. SE of 1 indicates low standard error in this index. Aggregation Effect is the normalized sum of the 3 curves. Effect Slope is the Aggregation Effect value minus the preceding Aggregation Effect value. Improved agreement between remotely sensed and forest inventory data and decreasing SE in the underlying forest inventory data outpaces the loss of spatial heterogeneity with increasing aggregation.191
