Abstract
⺠We examine the effect of different degrees of fibre looseness in the longitudinal vibration process. ⺠Turbulence generated by the fibre holding frame is evaluated by PIV measurement. ⺠The effect of the vibrating holding frame is not significant if it is a very simple structural configuration. ⺠A comparison of power consumption to make the same improvement by vibration and aeration is carried out.
