Abstract
⺠Patterned membrane was effective in preventing fouling on the membrane surface. ⺠Experiments and simulation study were carried out for flat and patterned membranes. ⺠Microbial distribution coincided with the stress distribution on the pattern. ⺠The pattern should be designed by considering the local stress distribution.
