Abstract
► Impedance measurements were performed in RO system in real time, in-situ. ► Model fitted EIS values resolved six electrically distinct layers in RO system. ► EIS verified the orders of magnitude of thicknesses of the membrane layers. ► The filtrate conductivity values matched the fitted EIS measured values for filtrate.
