Abstract
► Arsenate transport through different anion-exchange membranes was systematically studied. ► Membrane properties were more important under batch Donnan dialysis conditions. ► Membranes with open structure and low matrix tortuosity were the most appropriate. ► Use of a monovalent-anion-permselective membrane led to slow arsenate transport. ► Thick membranes were successfully applied under continuous Donnan dialysis conditions.
