Abstract
⺠Arsenate transport through different anion-exchange membranes was systematically studied. ⺠Membrane properties were more important under batch Donnan dialysis conditions. ⺠Membranes with open structure and low matrix tortuosity were the most appropriate. ⺠Use of a monovalent-anion-permselective membrane led to slow arsenate transport. ⺠Thick membranes were successfully applied under continuous Donnan dialysis conditions.
