Abstract
⺠A method to map the extent of wildland based on airborne lidar is described. ⺠The definition of wildland is based on vertical cover fraction and spatial morphology. ⺠Wildland maps for the region of a large wildfire were produced. ⺠A clear relationship existed between the homes destroyed and distance to wildland.
