Abstract
► Four different models were compared for estimating vegetation phenology in India. ► The Whittaker and Fourier models provided the best fit to the raw time-series data. ► The double logistic model provided the best fit to simulated data with noise added. ► The effects of uncertainty and model choice on phenological estimates were shown. ► The information will be of use to researchers estimating phenology from space.
