Abstract
⺠The AATSR retrievals over Eastern China show seasonal variation of the AODs over areas having strong athropogenic activity. ⺠Over urban areas the highest AODs are observed during summer, and lowest during winter. ⺠Over rural areas the AODs remain low troughout the year. ⺠The contribution of the fine mode particles to the total AOD is over 70% over most part of the Eastern China.
