Abstract
⺠The wave climate in Latin America and the Caribbean is described at time scales: seasonal, annual, inter-annual, trends. ⺠A characterization of the most representative multivariate sea states is also performed. ⺠Long-term trends are obtained for wave heights and mean direction of the wave energy flux. ⺠Influence of large climate patterns in the region is explored. ⺠The probability of occurrence of sea-state types varies depending on large-scale synoptic circulation patterns.
