Abstract
⺠This paper explores plausible changes in the East Antarctic Ice sheet on the surface elevation at ice core sites. ⺠At least half of the early LIG optimum in ice core records could be explained by a reduced thickening across East Antarctica. ⺠This effect should be considered when estimating LIG temperatures. ⺠A simulated retreat within Wilkes -Aurora basins produces a large elevation-driven response. ⺠These results might be able to constrain the contribution of this region to elevated LIG sea levels.
