Abstract
⺠Rapid climate change leads to more than a doubling of simulated N2O emissions. ⺠Simulated emissions show considerable variability between different soil types. ⺠Biological N-fixation increases N2O-release from nitrification/denitrification. ⺠Simulated N2O emissions show the same trend as polar ice core records.
