Abstract
► PACl removes preferentially the proteinaceous fraction of biopolymers. ► TMP increase rate in UF is not in proportion to foulant removal. ► Fouling control is a co-effect of different mechanisms. ► Monomeric coagulants are more suitable than PACl in inline coagulation with UF. ► Lab and pilot scale results on phosphorus removal are consistent with each other.
